Group Programs
Cranbrook Institute of Science offers educational and entertaining programs that spark curiosity for grades pre-K through 12 and beyond. We welcome you to visit us on a field trip, or we can bring our Science On The Go programs to you in-person or virtually. Our classroom science programs align with Michigan Science Standards (NGSS)!
We also offer professional development, science materials, and other resources for educators.
Field Trips at Cranbrook Institute of Science bring curriculum to life through hands-on exploration and educator-led experiences aligned with Michigan Standards. Topics include astronomy, earth science, engineering, environmental science, chemistry, life science, physical science, computer science, and social studies.
Turn your summer into an exciting adventure with science! Whether you're a scout troop, classroom crew, camp group, or anything in between, we’ll customize a summer field trip full of fun and unforgettable memories!
Summer Group Visit programs are offered Wednesday through Friday from July 8 to August 28, 2026.
Science On the Go delivers Cranbrook Institute of Science programs directly to your school or event space. Most of our Field Trip offerings are available at your location, with select adjustments based on space and setting. We can even bring astronomy experiences to you with our mobile planetarium!
Guests visiting in groups of 20+ are eligible for discounted general admission pricing by registering in advance.

Freshwater Forum
Water on the Go! brings freshwater education into middle school classrooms throughout Michigan. Programs engage students in fun presentations and hands-on learning about water science and protecting the Great Lakes.
The Rouge River Water Festival is designed to help elementary students learn about our most precious natural resource- clean, fresh water.
Blue Planet Jobs: Careers in Water event is an interactive career exploration event for high school students focused on careers connected to our water resources.
