COVID-19 Update

We are open and accepting reservations for Wednesday – Sunday visits. Please note, walkup registration is not guaranteed. Your health and safety are of the utmost importance to the Institute of Science, and we appreciate your cooperation with the following:

  • All guests aged two and older are required to wear a face-covering for the duration of their visit.
  • Children under age 2 are not required to wear a face-covering however, we ask that they remain in a stroller or carrier if without a mask.
  • The Acheson Planetarium is open with limited capacity. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Please call our Reservations Office at 248.645.3210 for reservations, show times, and available programs.
  • The Observatory, Reflections Café, exploreLAB, Changing Exhibit Hall, and a few hands-on exhibit components are currently closed for the safety of our guests.
  • Guests should maintain six feet of social distance between themselves and other guests, whenever possible.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available at the museum entrance and high-contact areas.
