National Dino Day is Sunday, June 1, and we hope you visit for some Jurassic-sized fun at Cranbrook Institute of Science!

Bring your curiosity—and your dino-loving crew—and step back in time to explore various dinosaurs, fossils, and a museum packed with scientific wonders:

  • exploreLAB Programming: Enjoy special programming of Dinos Drawn Wrong at 12:30pm, an exclusive sneak peek of our newest program The Spinosaurus Wars at 1:30pm, and Tour of the Jurassic at 2:30pm!
  • Scavenger Hunt: Set off on a paleo-themed scavenger hunt throughout the Institute—who knows what you’ll find?
  • T-rex Encounters: Stand face-to-skull with Black Beauty the T. rex and witness the true scale of these prehistoric giants
  • Immersive Experiences: Get hands-on with interactive displays and immersive exhibits throughout the Institute
  • Dino Selfies: Snap a selfie with our iconic dinosaur duo—Steggy the Stegosaurus and Mary the Triceratops—right outside the Institute!
  • Prehistoric Wonder: Unearth fun facts, fossil finds, and science magic hiding around every corner
  • Take the Fun Home: Grab dino-themed treasures at the Science Shop to take the adventure home

Whether you’re a lifelong dino buff or raising the next paleontologist, National Dino Day is the perfect time to explore, learn, and ROAR together at the Institute!

All activities are included with general admission, except the exploreLAB, which requires an additional fee. Tickets to the exploreLAB range between $1-$5 per person and can be purchased at the front desk upon arrival or in advance online.
