Families of all ages and Scout groups are invited to join us for an interactive, out-of-this-world experience at Cranbrook Institute of Science - after-hours!
On select Saturday nights, we’ll open the museum to explore planets, stars, space travel, and so much more.
Enjoy a live, guided tour of the night sky in the Acheson Planetarium, observe the stars in the Cranbrook Observatory, weather permitting, learn from an astronomer, explore hands-on activities, and you’ll even get to take home a space-themed snack!
Attendees will also have the opportunity to examine the universe around us in our newest exhibit, SPACE: A Journey to Our Future, presented by PNC Bank with support from GM. From amazing discoveries and explorations of the past to today’s explorers who are shaping our future destiny in the galaxy, there is something everyone in the family will enjoy. You can see a REAL piece of the Moon, explore family-friendly interactives, tour a full-scale future Moon habitat, plan a trip to Mars, and more.
For Scout groups: Saturday Night Space Science is designed to be a fun and engaging experience for scouts of all ages. The program will partially or fully meet the requirements of the following GSA and Scouts BSA badges: Daily Space Science Explorer, Brownie Space Science Adventurer, Junior Space Science Investigator, Cadette and Senior Space Space Exploration, Tiger Sky is the Limit. Wolf Air of the Wolf, and Webelo Adventure in Science.
