Since 2013, the Institute’s pediatric cancer program, Cranbrook Cares, has been alleviating the isolation that many young cancer patients and their families feel during treatment through customized programming offered directly at hospitals, and during private events at the Institute.

Several times each year the Institute offers private opportunities to explore science in a sanitized environment when the Institute is closed to the public. Additionally, dynamic summer camp experiences allow campers the chance to enjoy summer and the natural world around them in a safe setting. 

Support Cranbrook Cares during the 2nd Annual “Breaking Pediatric Cancer” Sporting Clay Shoot

Sportspersons are invited to spend the day at the Bald Mountain Shooting Range in Lake Orion on Friday, May 19 to help fund private visits to the Institute of Science for children battling cancer and their families.

This is a team format, 100-clay-per-shooter event with scoring based on the Lewis Class System. 

Participants should bring their own shotgun. Ammunition will be provided.

Event Schedule
11:00am - Registration opens
11:30am - Lunch and raffle
12:45pm - Mandatory safety briefing
1:00pm - Competitive shoot - shotgun start
3:30pm - Awards, raffle drawing, and after glow
