Explore Newton’s three laws and how forces cause motion. Learn the history of the trebuchet and observe the power of physics using the Institute’s three-ton trebuchet, capable of launching a watermelon-sized object the length of a football field or more!
This program takes place outside, and is offered September 21, 2026 through November 6, 2026, AND April 12, 2027 through June 11, 2027 (weather permitting).

General Science
Let Cranbrook Institute of Science bring science to your location for a schoolwide or family science experience!
During this two-hour program, your group (up to 300 guests max) will engage with 14 different hands-on science activities that you select from a menu of options. You provide the volunteers, and we provide the fun!
Perfect partner with a back-to-school event, science fair, ice cream social, or even in conjunction with a Title 1 literacy event.

Guided Museum Tour
General Science
Your class embarks on a shared journey of discovery with your museum visit. Our 45-minute staff-led museum tour is an efficient use of limited time and offers structure and high impact engagement with the Cranbrook Institute of Science exhibits. Tours can be customized by grade level.
Minimum of 20/Maximum of 30 students per group tour.
