Join us for a fast-paced, highly interactive, prehistoric evening at Cranbrook Institute of Science! We will open the museum after-hours on select Saturdays for guests to travel through Earth’s past and investigate the night sky, fossils, T. rex, and more!

Enjoy pizza, a visit to the Acheson Planetarium for a live guided tour of the prehistoric night sky and our newest exhibit SUE: The T. rex Experience, hands-on activities with Institute staff, and take home a real fossil! Stick around after programming ends to linger in the exhibits or visit our Observatory, too.

We designed Saturday Night Science; Paleo Edition to be fun and engaging for families and scouts ages 5-12! 

Evening Program Pricing
$50 per person
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Doors open for museum exploration at 5:30pm
  • Programming begins promptly at 6:oopm and runs until 8:30pm
  • The Museum, SUE: The T. rex Experience, Science Shop, and Observatory will remain open until 9:15 pm
  • Face coverings optional

  • Doors open for gear drop off and museum exploration at 6:00pm
  • Programming begins promptly at 6:30pm and runs until 9:00pm
  • The Museum, SUE: The T. rex Experience, Science Shop, and Observatory will remain open until 10:30pm
  • Lights-Out at 11:00pm, sharp
  • Late night movie in our Auditorium
  • Adult “lounge” with all-night coffee, wi-fi, and snacks
  • Any overnight, with less than 60 total paid attendees 10 days from scheduled date, will be cancelled and reservations refunded
  • Wake-Up and continental breakfast begins at 6:45am and everyone departs the Musuem no later than 8:00am
  • Please note – the exhibits, including SUE, will be unavailable in the morning
  • Face coverings optional

Please note: Due to the popularity of these events, they are expected to fill quickly for the school year. Please submit your reservation as soon as possible. Final attendance #s per group/reservation are required no less than 21 days before the date of event.
