She LEADS STEAM Camp empowers girls in grades seven through nine to explore leadership and STEAM through exciting hands‑on activities, real‑world skill development, and mentorship from inspiring women in the field.
This camp is free for participants and lunch/snacks are provided.
Camp Dates
Monday, June 22, 2026 – Friday, June 26, 2026
Daily, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Who can apply?
- Girls going into 7th , 8th , or 9th grades
- Residence in the Tri County Metro Detroit area
- One of the following identifiers of financial support:
- Attendance at either a Title I school or Title 1 eligible school or
- Qualifies for free or reduced lunches or
- Family supported by Bridge Card
Application Process
- Applications for summer 2026 are open now.
- Application and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader must be submitted by Friday, May 8, 2026.
- Applicants will be notified whether they have been accepted into the camp by Friday, May 29, 2026.
- If accepted, applicants will need to complete our camp registration process. The acceptance email will contain information on how to register.

The SHE LEADS STEAM Camp provides impactful experiences to underserved girls with an interest in STEAM.
Funding for the SHE LEADS STEAM Camp is made possible by the annual Cranbrook Institute of Science Women Rock Science fundraiser.
Women Rock Science champions equitable access to STEAM education by supporting scholarships, internships, and innovative programs that help Michigan students—especially young women—see themselves as future scientists, innovators, creators, and leaders.
