Gallery Docents are associated with the traveling exhibit Tutankhamun: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh’s Tomb, which runs from February 3 – September 3, 2017. Positions are available during the day Tuesday through Sunday, and First Friday evenings (the first Friday evening of each month).

Gallery Docents engage exhibit visitors with hands-on activities, family/small group spotlight tours, and information about the exhibit and related science topics. 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 16 years of age or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Enthusiasm for working with visitors of all ages
  • Desire to learn and to share
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Able to commit to one four-hour weekday shift per week, or one four-hour weekend shift bi-weekly from February through May and/or June through August, 2017.
  • Attend a formal training (offered weekdays and weekends) in January
  • Abide by Cranbrook policies and procedures
