Scouts at Cranbrook 2011-12
Field trips to Cranbrook Institute of Science offer your Scouts the chance to work with
science professionals active in their fields, and the opportunity to interact with a unique
collection of objects and artifacts. Our experts work with your group to coach Scouts through a variety of science topics using interactive workshops and hands-on activities which leaves them with a heightened understanding of the natural world and a curiosity to learn more about the wonder of science. Workshop fees include the cost of general admission and Scouts are encouraged to come early, or stay late, to visit the Institute during regular museum hours.
Mission Statement
Cranbrook Institute of Science is Michigan’s premier museum of natural history fostering in its audiences a passion for understanding the world around them and a lifelong love of learning.
Interest Patch Workshops for Girl Scouts
Make sure to check out our Boy Scout Merit Badge opportunities. All Cadette,
Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts may register for Boy Scout Merit Badge
workshops. Many of these workshops meet Cadette, Senior and Ambassador
Interest Project requirements.
Cranbrook Patches
These fun and colorful patches are a great souvenir of your visit to Cranbrook and can
be ordered when you register for your workshop. Each patch is $3.
Planning your Scouting at Cranbrook Experience
Many of our workshops and Scout Skills are scheduled on the same day. Register for more than one workshop and/or Scout Skills on the same day and receive the discounted price for the additional workshops. The more workshops your Scouts attend on the same day the lower the price. Saturday workshop attendees should bring a clearly labeled lunch.
