Cape Farewell: Art & Climate Change

Members are invited to attend the opening preview of Cape Farewell: Art & Climate Change. Complimentary healthy snacks will be provided by Whole Foods Market from 4-6pm. Family activities including hands on opportunities with a 385 million year old coral fossil from Michigan will be offered from 4-6pm.


In addition to David Buckland’s exhibit, Cranbrook has organized a complimentary exhibit, The Changing Earth: Context for the Modern World. This exhibit explores the local expression of climate changes over the course of the Earth’s history and present evidence for the growing role of humanity as a major force for change in the Earth System.

Breakfast Seatings at 9am, 10:30am & 12pm

 

Join us for a full Maple meal featuring pancakes and pure maple syrup as well as seasonal indoor and outdoor activities at our 36th Annual Maple Breakfast and Festival. This event is open ONLY to Institute Members who pre-register for the Breakfast. Festival programs include the making of maple sugar candy, sap evaporator demonstrations in the sugar hut and more.


Michigan made maple products including syrup, cream and candy will be sold at the Science Shop.


Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for children 2-12. Children under 2 are FREE. All tickets include admission to the museum, breakfast and relate events for the day. Pre-registration is required for all breakfast seatings. Pre-registration is required by March 9, 2010.

New members of Cranbrook Institute of Science are invited to attend this member reception. A Continental Breakfast provided by Whole Foods Market will be served along with a “behind the scenes” presentation by Michael D. Stafford, Ph.D. , Director of Cranbrook Institute of Science. The program will conclude with a tour of the current collections on exhibit.
