Unlike... publicly funded museums, Cranbrook Institute of Science does not receive taxpayer support.

Unlike... a profit based entertainment venue, our admission and program fees only cover about 30 percent of our actual cost.

But, unlike other museums, Cranbrook Institute of Science is fortunate to have supporters like you who believe in the important of science education.

What Your Dollars Can Do...

We appreciate gifts of any size. Even small gifts can add up quickly and have an enormous impact on the Institute.

If you had $25 in your pocket, what would you spend it on today? A trip for two to the movies? A nice lunch? Or, perhaps you would treat your co-workers to a latte? At the Institute of Science, a modest gift of even $25 can make an impact year-round.

$25 = TOOLS. Twenty-five dollars provides materials and supplies for a group of 30 pre-school children to enjoy a Young Scientist program.

$50 = ATMOSPHERE. Fifty dollars purchases the conditioning agent required to maintain five cubic feet of climate-controlled exhibit space.

$100 = ONE HEAD. One hundred dollars provides a featureless head, constructed of conservation grade materials ideal for displaying a headdress from our cultural collection.

$200 = EXCITED KIDS. Two hundred dollars provides transportation for low-income schools to visit the Institute on what is, for many, their only field trip of the year.

$250 = A HAPPY SCHOOL. Two hundred and fifty dollars allows us to pack a piece of the Institute into a van and bring all the mystery, excitement and education to local classrooms throughout the region.
