Grades K-Adult
Authentic artifacts and age appropriate hands-on activities bring history to life to discover how Native Americans interacted with the natural world to meet their daily needs. K-2 programs focus on meeting basic needs and include a “make-and-take” craft. At the 5th grade level, students investigate the contrast between Southwest and Northwest Coast tribal groups, the saga of the Plains tribes and their clashes with the expanding United States and the famous African-American “buffalo soldiers”. At the 6th grade level the program focuses on the tools and technology of Paleo-Indians and the transition to agriculture in the Americas.
