Hack This Camp

Hack This Camp
(Entering grades 6-8) • July 15-19
$525 members/$560 non-members per week

Is your camper interested in electronics and technology? Would they enjoy making, tearing down and hacking things? Campers will receive their own electronic components, soldering iron, and several kits in order to find out how things work! Explore robots that respond to their environment, computer programming through Arduino, build your own one-string guitar, and construct a model trebuchet. Come Hack This Camp

Museum Boot Camp Ticket


Before & After Camp Care

Available for all full-day camps.

7:30am- 9:30am; $20 per day/$100 per week
4pm - 6pm; $20 per day/$100 per week
7:30am - 9:30am & 4pm-6pm; $40 per day/$200 per week

A fee of $20 will be charged per child for every 15 minutes the child is left in the care of camp staff or after care staff beyond their scheduled departure time.

Museum Boot Camp

(entering grades 6-8) • Aug. 12-16
9:30am - 4pm
$415 members/$450 non-members per week

If your camper loves the Institute and is ready to see how the museum runs behind the scenes, then this camp is sure to please. Each day will be spent with a staff members exploring all aspects of museum work from the sciences of Archaeology to Zoology and careers from advertising to curation! As the week progresses, the campers will create their own exhibit, which then goes on public display in the Institute!

Explorer Camp

$315 members/$350 non-members per week
Each day brings a new scientific journey, from physics and chemistry to ecology and astronomy. Every Science Explorer Camp provides a variety of unique, age appropriate hands on activities related to different subject areas of the museum.

Camps run 9:30am - 4pm

Beginner Explorer Camp

(entering PK-K or Age 4 by April 1, 2012)
June 11-15 • July 23-27 • July 30-Aug. 3 • Aug. 6-10
9:30am - 1pm
$250 members/$300 non-members per week

Bugs, dinosaurs and chemistry experiments are just some of the things your young scientist will be involved in during this activity based camp. We’ll explore the campus, use microscopes, investigate energy and a lot more as we wander through the wonderful world of science.
